how did i remake pong so badly on scratch when someone did it well on godot lol

You should try Godot! It’s more extensive than scratch and you can make more stuff in it.

one issue, im stuck on a school chromebook atm for making games since i havent been able to use my laptop for the past like 9 months and my past experiences with godot were confusing. i just use scratch since im so familiar with it and its easy to use lol, but ill try godot if i ever get my laptop back

I tried scratch out, and I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the interface & UX are amazing, and the way scripts work is very inuitive (though I'd have preferred to have a simple way to write them, since searching for blocks is kind of annoying), but on the other hand, sprites don't have folders, animation is a pain, and good luck hacking together 3D with that framerate. Also, you have to use external programmes to compile to anything usable.

im a master at scratch but i need to learn godot so i can make more.

what engine did you use?

Godot!

makes sense, I haven't touched a game engine other than Pygame in a while

Cool! I’m using pygame for the current project i’m developing.

nice

I got a game where the ball was going almost completely straight the whole time, so you might want to fix it unless its intentional but the AI looks really funny when that happens, and I really like how you added a nice glow

(1 edit)

and I think you should add an unlimited mode where the ball speed and the AI paddle speed get exponentially faster

Huh, good idea! Maybe I could implement that.

Yeah I know, the game is a little buggy as I made it a while ago when i was a little new to godot and programming.

yeah, makes sense, but it still looks really good

Nice game!

thanks!
